We undeniably need the RIGHT kind of woman who thinks women are smart enough to be in control of their bodies to RUN for office; we do NOT need any more women who want get into politics to prevent women from having authority and opportunities and bless the status quo.Too few women in Congress appear to remember they are WOMEN in their striving to make a name for themselves.

Sign our petition to create a cabinet position called Secretary for Women and Equalities. The UK has had such a position since 2007; apparently the US thinks it has already achieved gender equality, for it has no such post.

It's time to move feminism forward at more than a 2 inch creep per year!

I have puzzled over this very issue a long time, because I have friends and family who are anti-choice women. It seems as though women like Sarah Palin are calling the question. The White House Project released a study not long ago that showed fewer than 20 percent of leadership positions in this country are held by women. So how do we involve more women in positions of leadership in business, politics and elsewhere unless we support ALL women, even those who clearly support gender-based discrimination when it comes to reproductive freedom? And do we stand and argue over who gets to call themselves a feminist, or do we focus on acting from our own feminist values and understanding?

I think I feel a blog post coming on...
