For the Love of Leaders; Fighting for Women in Philly and Beyond

Tonight in Philadelphia, the city of “brotherly love,” Women’s eNews will honor 14 who fight for women at their first annual Philadelphia Leadership Awards. We are proud to announce that among the honorees is the Women’s Campaign Forum’s CEO/President, Siobhan “Sam” Bennett.

“I first met the women leaders of the Philadelphia region when I was working on a story for Ms. Magazine more than 15 years ago, and then again when I was a senior writer for the National Law Journal,” says Women’s eNews founder and editor in chief Rita Henley Jensen. “Each time I was awestruck by what they as individuals and as a group accomplished for women and girls. I am so delighted to have this chance to be with them again and to be part of an evening honoring their commitment, dedication and success. They are role models for all of us.”

The 14 leaders being honored for their accomplishments have provided havens, broken barriers, promoted health, and leveraged women’s power. Ms. Bennett is being honored for serving at the forefront of the movement to change the country’s structure and enact progressive change by shifting the makeup of our country’s leaders. A veteran of some bruising political battles herself, Ms. Bennett now runs the Women’s Campaign Forum, an organization that endorses, raises funds for and provides networking opportunities for female candidates who support reproductive choices.

We commend Women’s eNews, one of our Sister Allied Organizations, in recognizing and honoring leaders improving the lives of women and girls.
