Netroots Nation: Blogicize for She Should Run™
Ladies - how many of you have ever considered running for office?
Not many, eh? I’m not surprised. Only 10% of women have ever thought about running for office, compared with 20% of men. Studies show that women run when they’re asked, but are asked less than men. Could this be part of the reason our country’s leadership is disproportionately male? Yes. Would you like to change that? Here’s how you can help: Blogicize for She Should Run.™
Blog-i-cize (blôg’ ë-saiz’) v. The act of joining the national movement to fill the political pipeline full of women by blogging about She Should Run.™
We’re organizing a national effort around Netroots Nation to ask 2,500 women to run for office. I bet everyone knows at least one talented woman leader who should consider running for office. If people blogged and tweeted about She Should Run,™ asking their readers to submit names of talented women leaders, we could reach thousands of women who should consider running for office. After a woman is asked to run, we take care of the rest—giving her the resources and information she needs to make an informed decision.
I hope you’ll join our grassroots effort to get more women in the political “pipeline” to run for office - Blogicize She Should Run™ today and ask your readers to think of women they know who should run.
Don’t have a blog? No worries, you can use Facebook, Twitter, or anything else you’d like to inspire women to run for office. Just sign up and let us know when you Blogicize!
Together, we can ensure that women across the country are running for office—whether it’s city council, school board, state legislature, or Congress. But they can’t run unless they’ve thought about it.
Do YOU know a woman who should run for office? Ask her to run today. Tell her: She Should Run.™
