Fellows’ Fun: Summer 2009 So Far

Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Jamie, I’m the Communications Fellow for WCF this summer. Along with six other talented young women from around the world, I am lucky enough to be working and learning from the staff here at WCF and living in Washington DC for the summer!

The Fellows are in the office the same hours as regular staffers, and we all have projects to keep us busy just like regular staff members. All of us have a specific focus area (politics, education, communication, development or nonprofit management) and will be here for the duration of the summer. So far, I have been working mostly on our fabulous new website, social networking (Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or Change.org) and keeping the staff informed on the latest women and politics news.

Hard at work in the WCF office!

Hard at work in the WCF office!

We all come from different schools, majors and backgrounds. But we all have a commitment to advancing women and politics as well as pro-choice values.

Every Friday, we get out of the office and explore DC! So much fun! There are a million things to see here, many of them free. Last Friday, we visited the American History Museum on the National Mall and went out to lunch:

We’re planning on seeing (and learning!) as much in our new home as possible. Keep checking back for more!
