WCF endorses State Senator Tarryl Clark for U.S. Congress

This post was written by WCF Fellow, Stephanie Glover

WCF is proud to announce our endorsement of congressional candidate, Tarryl Clark. Tarryl Clark is running in the Minnesota 6th district, seeking the nomination to challenge  Republican candidate, Michele Bachmann.

Tarryl is the current Assistant Majority leader for the Minnesota Senate, where she has served since 2005. In her four years as state senator, Tarryl has fought for working families, including health care reform, early childhood education, and consumer safety. Tarryl has dedicated her professional life to public service—she has worked with the Girl Scouts and mentoring young women, served as program coordinator at the YWCA,  the director of Central Minnesota’s Habitat for Humanity, and the Executive Director of the Minnesota Community Action Association. Her legislative experience combined with her record of public service makes her uniquely qualified to represent Minnesota’s 6th district.

WCF is excited to join with other Tarryl supporters such as Senator Al Franken who said this:

“Her ability to listen and her common sense, get-it-done attitude have allowed her to not only understand, but stand for the needs of her district. From ensuring Saint Cloud State University has the resources it needs to provide a first class education, to expanding access to early childhood education; from repairing the district’s failing roads and bridges, to investing in our transportation future, especially Northstar. Tarryl has always worked with the community to stand up for the residents of her district.”

As a potential challenger against a national figure like Michelle Bachmann, this race is likely to get a lot of attention. Find out more about Tarryl and volunteer opportunities on her website.
